The Laboratory of Ultrasonic and Optoacoustic Diagnostics IAP RAS led by Dr. Pavel Subochev invites talented MSc graduates to join our PhD program starting autumn 2025.
PhD Project Topic:
Rapid volumetric optoacoustic diagnostics of neurovascular coupling in the cerebral cortex
What we offer:
- Monthly stipend of 80,000 RUB for 4 years (grant from the «МОЗГ.ИДЕЯ» program).

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, applied mathematics, or closely related fields.
- MSc degree (graduating summer 2025) in Biophotonics, Biophysics, Medical Physics, Neuroscience, or related disciplines.
- Strong research experience, preferably supported by publications in peer-reviewed journals or at least conference abstracts.
- Solid programming skills (Python, MATLAB); experience in automation of experiments, data analysis, and image processing.
- Preferable: experience in CAD software, 3D prototyping, electronics basics, Arduino, or similar technologies.
- High motivation and keen interest in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of biophotonics, physics, and neuroscience.
- Relocation to Nizhny Novgorod is required.
- Proficiency in Russian is strongly preferred to facilitate local communication and documentation.
